Uniforms can be a great way to create a union among members in an organization and create a consistent appearance.
For centuries, a vast array of industries have used uniforms, including:
• Schools,
• Militaries,
• Sports Teams
• Performance Troupes,
• Workplaces…
Uniforms help us distinguish one group or organization from another. While differentiation is a main reasons uniforms are so prevalent, sports teams, the military, and some other organizations have supplemental wardrobes that have their specific purpose as well.
No matter what type, uniforms give us a sense of unity and help promote pride in being a part of a larger organization. Loyalty in a group increases a feeling of team and boosts the morale among everyone involved.
We feel more confident and enthusiastic when we belong to a group that has the same interests and goals. In the broader view, this cohesiveness also creates brand recognition and consumer trust within our community.
In martial arts, wearing a uniform is a typical protocol, and each style has it’s own unique traditional attire that represents it. These uniforms are worn in class for training, at formal events such as testings, tournaments, and at demonstrations.

When one sees a person wearing a traditional martial arts uniform, one recognizes that the person in such attire is a practitioner of some form of martial arts. There is a sense of unity shared by members of an individual style. Further, a martial artist also feels a sense of belonging to the martial arts world as a whole.
While tradition is vital regarding martial arts uniforms, it is sometimes a challenge to keep them looking their best when they are worn daily in class.
For this reason, Life Skill Academy offers our new members a Basic Uniform. This pants and t-shirt combination is comfortable as well as functional. This level of functionality is especially crucial since Life Skill drills consist of physical training that involves floor exercises and dynamic martial arts movements.
Having a daily training outfit also provides students and parents the flexibility of having options for training. Much like the military has dress and utility options, students wear this training-type uniform in class daily.
Since our uniform tops display the Life Skill logo, all students in the organization can feel more connected to “something bigger.”
As you’ve seen, our Leadership and Legacy Program members are rewarded with traditional Kung Fu uniforms with a colored collar ranking and Kung Fu shoes. These uniforms create a higher sense of appreciation and goal setting for the levels of Leadership and Instructor training.
