By the time kids get to Middle School, the end up falling into one of these three basic groups:
1. THE FIRST GROUP IS THE LEADERS.
These are the kids that think for themselves and make decisions for themselves based on what is right.
2. THE SECOND GROUP IS THE FOLLOWERS.
These are the kids who try desperately to “fit-in” & make decisions based on what peers directly or indirectly pressure them to do.
This group is most susceptible to:
• Fall in with the Wrong Crowd
• Experiment with drugs/alcohol
• Fall into other dangerous behaviors
3. THE THIRD GROUP IS THE LONERS.
These are the kids that tend to keep to themselves and sometimes think of themselves as weird. Some Dangers Sadly Include:
• Depression
• Anxiety
• Suicide
• Sadly, Even School Shootings
WHICH ONE DO YOU WANT YOUR CHILD TO BE?
If you’re like most people, you want your child to be in that right crowd.
In my experience, the best way to safeguard your child against unhealthy peer pressure, against following the wrong crowd, and Stay out of Dangerous Situations is to build their Confidence, Communication Skills and Leadership Qualities needed to become Leaders instead of Followers or Loners.
