Parents, we all want our children to grow up with good manners and be respectful. Sometimes it can get challenging when their little personalities start coming out and they don’t know how to control themselves. As a parent, I’m sure there’s at least ONE situation that comes to mind where your child displayed a lack of self-control.
Maybe they are testing boundaries, not listening when you ask them to do something, or demanding what they want? This is a sign of low self-control! .
Now in that moment, you may have been thinking something like “I did NOT raise my child to behave this way.” OR “Who IS this little person and WHAT did they do with my child?”

I have some bad news for you. I’m seeing more and more challenges facing our youth that make it even tougher for kids to be self-disciplined. These challenges are coming from social environments, peer pressure at school, social media influence, and even difficulties at home. BUT, I do have really good news. Martial Arts training can help increase your child’s Self-Control and here’s 6 ways how:
1. Setting Goals:
As students advance in training, they increase in our belt ranking system. This encourages students to work at attaining the next level, which teaches them how to set and achieve a goal.
2. Improving Focus:
Through simple tasks like breaking a board or punching a target in proper form, children learn how to concentrate. This translates to other areas of their lives like completing homework or reading assignments.
3. Learning Discipline:
Martial Arts instructors incorporate a healthy atmosphere of accountability during class. You could say we are strict… but in a way that makes children proud of their good behavior.
4. Taking on a Challenge:
One of our priorities is helping our students reach their full potential. Students experience non-stop encouragement to step it up and take their training to the next level.
5. Teaching Respect:
As an instructor, I take the time to teach my students in nearly every class about the importance of showing respect to their parents, teachers, siblings and peers.
6. Boosting Self-Confidence:
At a certain point, our students realize how much they have improved. They understand that their new skills can help protect themselves AND others. This is what boosts their confidence and it shows in the way they socialize and interact with others in school and at home.
Martial arts training might just be your answer. We know that it’s not always easy for parents to find fun and challenging activities for their children after school or on weekends. Our kids classes are designed with this in mind! When you enroll your child in our Martial Arts program, they will have a structured activity where they can develop skills like focus,  & self control while having loads of fun too.

And of course martial arts is great physical exercise too!
