There are so many things to worry about as a parent – sleep, feeding, clothes, playdates. In the past ten years, there’s been a growing concern for parents. Children suffering from anxiety is not uncommon these days. The world can be a scary place to live in, and it’s hard to know what the future will hold.
We all know that kids can be a handful. They have no qualms about telling you when they’re feeling insecure, and it can be hard to tell if their insecurities are just part of growing up or something more serious. In the case of anxiety, children may experience symptoms such as trouble sleeping, difficulty concentrating at school or work, stomachaches and headaches.
Our children’s self-confidence and self-esteem is directly related to how they feel about themselves. And while we may think we can’t do anything for them when it comes to these things, the truth is that there are a number of ways we can help boost their confidence. For example, if their school experience has left them feeling inadequate or lacking in any way due to bullying, talk with administrators at the school. Showing support for our children will only allow us all to take better care of each other as individuals who matter. What have you done recently to build up your child’s confidence?
We all want our kids to feel confident that there’s help available for them – which is why our team specializes in teaching kids to use Confidence to Kill Anxiety!
When our children have that sense of security that they are doing things right, then there won’t be any room left for worry or fear. No matter how bad things get, we need to remind our kids that as long as they’re doing their best, thy can get better and keep moving forward!
There are lots of ways we can help kids feel confident in who they are and what they do. Here are some tips on how you can help boost their confidence self-esteem.
1. How We Move Is How We Feel:
At our academy, Life Skill students constantly perform a “Posture Check” throughout their class. When your child’s coach yells, “Posture Check” the class yells back, “Stand Tall, Chin Up, Eyes Forward!” This small hack is very a very effective empowerment tool that injects confidence and spirit in your child. Makes them feel like they control their Life!
2. Failure Is Our Friend:
Confidence is something that can be hard to come by, especially for kids. Kids are constantly striving to be the best at whatever it is they’re doing and this often leads them down a path where they feel like failures when they don’t succeed, which can lead to not wanting to try new things.
Life Skill Coaches teach kids that Failure Is Our Friend”! This is an ancient concept that helps us achieve our goals by always remembering that we either win or learn from our mistakes. So, kids are conditioned to always try new things and not give up just because we didn’t succeed the first time.
3. Bully-Proof!
Confidence is something that everyone wants in life but not all kids have when dealing with aggression. The struggle of trying to get confident can lead people down a dark road filled with self doubt and anxiety which makes getting over those seemingly small hurdles incredibly difficult. However, there’s no reason for you or your child to worry. We got this covered. How?
There’s No Confidence, Like Self-Defense Confidence!
Michelle T. Tells us :
“Martial Arts training has taught my daughter self-defense skills, focus, and self-confidence that has made a huge difference in her life! Last year, she suffered from moments of feeling inadequate. Recently, she was promoted to yellow belt and has become noticeably more focused, confident, happier, and stronger! She absolutely loves this program and it’s been such a wonderful experience for both of us!
I’m so proud of how much she has grown as an individual because she has learned all these new skills and gained so much confidence from being part of this amazing team. My little girl loves going to class every week and although it’s an excellent form of exercise it’s also helped her deal with bullying.”
We all have moments of feeling inadequate, but there are ways to channel this into something powerful. The discipline of martial arts has been used by many parents as a means of self-defense and self confidence since its inception centuries ago.
I hope this blog post will give you some peace of mind knowing there are ways to proactively fight back against anxiety in children.
